Floods getting worse in Terai region of Nepal


More then 36 people were killed and dozens reported missing after torrential rains triggered floods and landslides in parts of Nepal. Many of the casualties were reported from the Terai region bordering India, which faced massive flooding after receiving heavy rainfall. The weatherman has warned that the country will receive more rain on Sunday.

It is estimated that tens of thousands were displaced due to the rains. Floods have inundated thousands of houses, leaving families without food and shelter. Flood victims are either displaced or are taking shelters at their relatives’ houses. Several rivers, including the Koshi , Rapti and the Bagmati are close to or have crossed danger levels.

The affected areas are Sunsari, Kalikot, Rasuwa, Sindhuli, Chitwan, Panchthar, Banke, Baglung, Jhapa and Makwanpur districts. 

Floods triggered by incessant rainfall have created havoc in most of the Tarai districts. Numerous lives, properties, rice crops and livelihoods have been shattered by the floods. Floods have inundated thousands of houses, leaving families without food and shelter. Flood victims are either displaced or are taking shelters at their relatives’ houses.  please help them on this situation.
