A group of youths have taken to the street saying that the government is preparing to amend the constitution so as to allow naturalized citizens to hold key state positions. Youth associated with different social networking groups protested at Maitighar in the Capital City demanding not to make such change to the constitution. “We resorted to protest to forewarn the government after media reported that the government has prepared a draft of amendment proposal so as to allow naturalized citizens to hold key state positions,” said Bikram KC, one of the protesters. Fresh debates have resurfaced after the government started preparations to amend the constitution so as to allow naturalized citizens to hold top state positions.
