In the first half of Everton's first game against Stoke City this afternoon, former Manchester United striker Rooney produced a cracking finish after great play for another new signing, Sandro Ramirez, in the final third.
Rooney's movement in the box left Stoke defenders stranded as he powered home a perfectly timed header to give Ronald Koeman's side a 1-0 lead on the stroke of half-time.
